Cancellation Policy

Thank you for choosing American Way Moving. We are dedicated to providing you with top-tier moving coordination and advisory services. Below you will find our cancellation policy, which details the procedures regarding our advisory services and your agreements with independent carriers.

Broker Fee
The fee charged by American Way Moving is a broker fee. This fee is for arranging the services of a fully licensed and insured motor carrier to transport and manage your household goods. Please note that this broker fee is distinct from the carrier charges.

Carrier Charges
Carrier fees must be paid C.O.D. (cash on delivery) unless arrangements are made in advance to pay via credit or debit card. These payments are made directly to the independently owned carrier in two installments: the first half is due upon pickup, and the second half is due upon delivery at your designated destination.

Cancellation Terms

  • Before Services Begin: You can cancel your move without any penalty up to 72 hours after signing your bill of lading. During this period, the broker fee is fully refundable.

  • After 72 Hours: The broker fee becomes non-refundable once 72 hours have passed following the signing of your bill of lading.

  • After Service Commencement: In accordance with U.S. Code 49 CFR § 375.505(h), no cancellations are allowed, and all deposits become non-refundable once physical moving services have commenced. This includes, but is not limited to, packing, loading, storage, and transportation of your property to and from the pick-up or delivery address.

  • Post Loading: Services cannot be canceled, and no refunds will be issued once your property has been loaded onto the truck.
